After 2014 Afghanistan must control situation by itself: Italy PM

KRASNAYA POLYANA (Krasnodar territory), December 3 (Itar-Tass) -
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said on Friday that Italy would
send additional 200 instructors to Afghanistan to help Afghan colleagues,
stressing that after 2014 Afghanistan must control the situation in the
country by itself.
The strength of the Italian military contingent in Afghanistan within
the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) is over 4,000 people at
the moment, and Italy is ready to send another 200 instructors to the
region to help the Afghan colleagues, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi
said on Friday after talks with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
"We will send 200 instructors to Afghanistan to help our Afghan
colleagues, so that the country could ensure security by its own forces,"
the Italian prime minister noted. "And after 2014 Afghanistan must control
the situation by itself, as well as guarantee that it will no longer be a
source of danger for other countries," the prime minister stressed.
