Russia, Japan to use bilateral potential for settling Korean situation.

MOSCOW, December 2 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and Japan plan using their
bilateral potential to settle the situation on the Korean Peninsula,
officials at the Russian Foreign Ministry said Thursday after a meeting
between Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin and Japan's ambassador
in Moscow, Masaharu Kono.
"The sides exchanged opinions on how the potential of Russian-Japanese
cooperation in the political sphere might be utilized for preventing a
further rise of the military and political confrontation on the Korean
Peninsula and for scaling down the tensions in the sub-region," a ministry
spokesman said.
