SPEAKER AND HUMAN RIGHTS NGOS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Parliament Speaker D.Demberel met representatives of ten organizations-members of the NGO's forum on Wednesday.
The visitors have presented him an open letter with information about human rights situation in Mongolia, which had been sent by the forum of NGO to the UN's Human Rights Council and considered there. "Mongolia's Government was given there 129 recommendations from 43 countries, but the accepted were only 118, while the remaining required concrete law regulations," the said.
The Speaker was introduced to some important issues needing a focus of legislation, for example, a freedom of information, law on emigrants and protecting their family members' rights, law on regulation of immigration issues, food safety, sufficiency and others.
D.Demberel said he will pay attention to these matters. "It is an important achievement that NGOs have consolidated to the forum and are trying to discuss vital issues of human rights," he added.
Present at the meeting were a head of parliament office Ts.Sharavdorj and advisor to the Speaker D.Batmunkh.
