VICE-SPEAKER LEFT FOR KAZAKHSTAN


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Vice-Speaker of the Great State Hural, G.Batkhuu has left for Kazakhstan to take part in the summit of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe /OSCE/.
56 OSCE States and Partner countries are participating in the OSCE 2010 Summit in Astana, 1-2 December. The gathered are expected to discuss the future shape of the OSCE, conflict resolution, arms control and combating discrimination, reform of policy, elections, freedom of the press, terrorism, as well as talks on regional border security threats are also high on the agenda.
The first summit of the OSCE was held in Istanbul, Turkey in 1999. After an 11-year time the Astana Summit was convened this year. The Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kanat Saudabayev has served as the Chairman of the OSCE, and Marc Perrin de Brichambaut is the current Secretary General of the OSCE.
