PRESIDENT GIVES GOVERNMENT DIRECTIVE


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia, Ts.Elbegdorj has signed a decree on the adoption by the Government measures to increase milk production, dairy products, potatoes and fruit products.
Among such measures, in particular, are: evaluation of the implementation of programs such as "Support the development of intensive livestock production", "The food supply", "Environmentally friendly products", "Milk"; allocating surrounding capital city and largest settlements lands for development of intensive farming in the direction of dairy production; reorganization of the lands distribution in favour of cooperative farms growing crops, harvesting hay, fodder crops, support to production of silage; improving the gene pool of milk cows, as well as sanitation for them; the creation of enterprises who produce dry milk, and introduction of technology for the accumulation of this type.
Other tasks the President is giving are to ensure a stability for production of potatoes and vegs, increase a variety of vegs, support an agriculture with irrigation system, promote vegs storehouses, study an offer by producers of agriculture products to increase the customs duties, and to develop a solution for this.
The directive also specifies measures to intensify the implementation of the program "Sea-buckthorn" and develop small and medium enterprises wo grow and process fruits and berries.
The President Elbegdorj is urging governmental and non-governmental organizations, businessmen, ranchers, mechanics and ordinary citizens to form habits of consuming food products of national production and of introducing new as well as traditional technologies for cultivation of environmentally friendly products.
