FM spokesman condemns West's support for terrorist groups

Tehran, Nov 30, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast here on Tuesday condemned support of the Western countries for terrorist groups.
Talking to foreign and domestic reporters during his weekly press briefing, he said the West is making political use of the issues of human rights and anti-terrorism struggle.
Referring to the assassination of an Iranian professor on Monday, he said there are documents on involvement of the West and the Zionist regime in Tehran’s terrorist operations against two university professors.
The issue will be legally followed up after the agents of the terrorist operations were identified, Mehmanparast said.
Unknown terrorists exploded the cars of Majid Shahriari and Fereydoun Abbasi in separate places Monday morning. Shahriari was killed immediately after the attack, but Abbasi and his wife escaped the bombing attack with minor injuries.
On the recent documents published by WikiLeaks website, the FM spokesman said the move is a very suspicious act and should not be taken seriously.
Referring to issues related to regional countries mentioned in the WikiLeaks report, he said the documents are designed for sowing discord among the regional states and are in line with the Iranophobia project.
He urged the regional countries to maintain their vigilance and be alert against the enemy’s conspiracies.
Meanwhile, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told reporters on Monday, 'The US administration releases documents and makes a judgment based on them. They are mostly like a psychological warfare and lack a legal basis'.
'The documents will certainly have no political effects. Nations are vigilant today and such moves will have no impact on international relations,' the chief executive added at the press briefing in Tehran.
He stressed that the WikiLeaks 'game' is 'not even worth a discussion and that no one would waste their time analysing it.'/end
