Yemen to set up high monitoring system to prevent illegal fishing

SANA'A, Aug. 06 (Saba)- Minister of Fisheries Wealth Mohammed
Shamlan said on Wednesday that the ministry would find out a high
monitoring system to prevent any illegal fishing act in the Yemeni
coastlines.
During his meeting with the governor of Hudeidah and members of
local council, Shamlan said that the ministry allocated YR 3 billion
to support fisheries projects in governorates.
He said that the sum would be distributed on governorates in
accordance with indications of their fishing sells, number of
fishermen and fishing boats.
Shamlan called on local council and coastguard to active their role
in protecting the Yemeni fisheries wealth.
