President: Iran-Turkmenistan gas line to change regional energy equations
Tehran, Nov 29, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here on Sunday that Turkmenistan-Iran gas pipeline will change energy equations of the region.
Speaking to reporters after inauguration of Iran-Turkmenistan pipeline, Ahmadinejad said that the pipeline to become operational next year, will develop North-South transportation corridor in Iran.
On talks with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov on Sunday, Ahmadinejad said, “Today, we held good talks on expansion of bilateral relations in the fields of investment, exploration and export of oil products.”
He said volume of Turkmen gas exports to Iran now stands at 12 billion cubic meters which can be raised to 20 billion cubic meters through appropriate management./end
