DPRK threatens to deal blow at provocateurs

PYONGYANG, November 26 (Itar-Tass) -- DPRK will deal a "strong and
ruthless blow" at the provocateurs, who create a threat for the
sovereignty and dignity of the country," says a statement of the DPRK
committee for a peaceful unification of the homeland, which handles the relations between the two Korean states.
The statement says that the escalation tension in the Korean Peninsula "may lead to a war, and all those who are playing with fire will be burned by it."
The statement was issued in response to the incident - an exchange of artillery fire -- which took place in the Yellow Sea on November 23. According to the statement, DPRK believes that the clash was the result of a provocation "within the framework of a conspiracy of the South Korean puppet regime, which is trying to save from bankruptcy its mendacious propaganda campaign, directed against DPRK, to put up obstacles on the way of the improvement of relations between the two Korean states and to call in question the might of the Korean People's Army."
"If Seoul insists on confrontation, DPRK is not going to avoid it," said a representative of the committee. "The people and the army of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, indignant over another provocation of the puppet authorities of the Republic of Korea (in the Yellow Sea), are willing to destroy the stronghold of the enemy, if it dares to encroach upon the sovereignty of our country," the statement stressed.
