VICE-SPEAKER MEETS INDIAN AMBASSADOR


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Vice Speaker of the Great State Hural, G.Batkhuu met Wednesday the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Mongolia, Satbir Singh.
At the meeting, the Vice-Speaker said Mongolia and India have traditional intellectual connections and that the bilateral ties have a long-year history. He expressed a satisfaction with the intensive development of the relations and cooperation in recent years in the fields of culture, religion, education, sciences and other social areas.
During in a conversation with Mr. Batkhuu, Mr. Singh mentioned that "India has two worldwide recognized ways of development. The first one is to achieve intensive development of information technology, which will create a huge number of jobs, and the second exit is the development of small production." This industry's output accounts for 60 percent--300 million US dollars-- of India's export thanks to labour of some 50 million people," he added.
They discussed such issues as opening direct flights between the two countries, which "will open the parties an opportunity to elevate the relations and cooperation in economy, trade and tourism into a newer level", and an intensification of the matters reflected in the joint agreement and the memorandum, which were signed last summer during the visit to Mongolia by the Speaker of the Lower Chamber of the Republic of India Meira Kumar. Here, they noted the importance of cooperation in new areas other than traditional ones, especially in information technology, with a view to bring the ties to a level of quality.
