Russia, China sign 13 contracts worth $ 8 bln - official.

MOSCOW, November 24 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and China signed 13 contracts
worth eight billion dollars on Wednesday, Russian Deputy Prime Minister
Alexander Zhukov said at the 5th Russian-Chinese economic forum,
PRIME-TASS reported.
Zhukov underlined that there are many accords among these contracts
which would contribute to the modernization of the Russian economy. Among
the signed documents is the framework agreement on credit lines between
the Savings Bank and China's Export-Import Bank worth two billion dollars;
a loan agreement between Vnesheconombank and the State Development Bank of
China on attracting funds to finance the construction of a woodworking
complex in the Khabrovsk territory worth 361.5 million dollars; an
agreement on the basic terms of Rusal's acquisition of a shake in the
authorized capital of the Chinese trade company Shenzhen North
Investments, a daughter company of NORINCO; the memorandum of intentions
regarding the project by Rusal and NORINCO to set up a joint venture to
produce and sell aluminum alloys; the contract between IFK Metropol and
China's MCC Overseas to build a ore dressing works in the republic of
Buryatia worth 1.33 billion dollars and other accords.
According to PRIME-TASS, Zhukov stated at the forum that Russia was
interested in a dramatic increase in investments from China, and urged
Chinese companies to participate in the privatization of Russian
enterprises. He also noted the growing regional cooperation between Russia
and China in the field of wood processing, in particular in the Irkutsk
region and the Krasnoyask territory.
