ST PETERSBURG, November 23 (Itar-Tass) - China expects downturns in
the global economy in the future, Prime Minister Wen Jiabao said after the
meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.
"The world can face new difficulties, new challenges are possible," he
said adding that the global economic crisis is not over yet.
As for Russian-Chinese cooperation the positive trends in bilateral
trade had been registered.
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said this year's trade output may reach
the pre-crisis level. Over the first eight months it grew by over 57
percent.
"I have no doubt that already this year we will reach the trade output
no less than that before the crisis," he said adding that the two
countries boost investment cooperation and heavy funds are injected into
infrastructure and transport projects.
"We plan to actively keep up interest of our companies, banks and the
business community in each other and create favourable conditions for
stronger direct business contacts," Putin said.
In 2009 the Russian-Chinese trade declined by one third to 39 billon
U.S. dollars as against 2008.
