ST PETERSBURG, November 23 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and China agreed to
expand opportunities for using national currencies in mutual trade, Prime
Minister Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday after the meeting with his Chinese
counterpart Wen Jiabao.
"We agreed to expand opportunities for national currencies in trade
and economic contacts," he said.
Putin noted that until this moment the two countries conducted trade
contacts in foreign currency, mainly U.S. dollars.
"At present, the trading in roubles began at China's stock exchange
and in early December the trading in yuans will begin in Moscow," he said.
