JUDOIST WINS BRONZE MEDAL IN ABU DHABI
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which is running November 22-24 in the United Arab Emirates, features some 180 judoka from 54 nations. There will be a record prize money event--US$ 200.000.
Mongolian two female and five male judoists of the national team have competed in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. On the opening day of the events, in a category for men /60 kg/ a Mongolian Ch.Boldbaatar, master of international class, demonstrated a clear victory over Ukraine's Georgy Zantaray managing to reach the pedestal of bronze, but was defeated by Russian Arsen Galstyan in silver medal's competition.
Abu Dhabi Judo Grand Prix is one of the richest in the history of the sport with the prize money of $200,000 for the winners in various weight divisions. Medalists will share the exact same amount of money as in the International Judo Federation /IJF/ Grand Slams; instead of the Grand Prix standard of US$ 100,000: in Abu Dhabi the podium offers US$ 150,000, being US$ 5,000 to the gold, US$ 3,000 for silver and US$ 1,500 for each of the 14 weight divisions.
