Brock voted Australia's top driver

The late Peter Brock has been voted Australia's greatest touring car driver.
Brock, who was killed in a rally crash in Western Australia in 2006, was a nine-time
Bathurst champion and the most recognisable driver in the country.
He won the award - voted on by a panel of experts, including drivers, officials and
the media - ahead of five-time touring car champion and six-time Bathurst winner
Mark Skaife.
Allan Moffat, a star of he 1960s and 1970s, was judged the third greatest racer from
Jim Richards and Dick Johnson.
Dual V8 Supercar Champion Marcos Ambrose, now racing NASCAR in the US, was included
in the top 10 in eighth place.
The only current touring car drivers to make the final 10 were TeamVodafone pair
Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup, in sixth and tenth respectively.
Brock's son James, also a racing driver, accepted the award on his father's behalf
at a presentation at this weekend's Sandown Challenge.
It was at Sandown where Brock arguably performed his best in legendary battles with
Johnson, Moffat and Richards.
Top 10 drivers: 1. Peter Brock, 2. Mark Skaife, 3. Allan Moffat, 4. Jim Richards, 5.
Dick Johnson, 6. Craig Lowndes, 7. Ian Geoghegan 8. Marcos Ambrose, 9. Norm Beechey,
