MOSCOW, November 19 (Itar-Tass) - Afghanistan's Foreign Minister
Zalmay Rassoul will visit Moscow on November 25 to prepare President Hamid
Karzai's visit to Russia in 2011, Russia's ambassador to Kabul, Andrei
Avetisyan, said in an interview with Itar-Tass on Friday.
"The upcoming visit of Afghanistan's Foreign Minister Zalmay Rassoul
to Moscow can be considered a preparatory stage of President Hamid Karzai'
s visit to Russia in the beginning of next year," he said.
The agreement on the visit was reached at the meeting between the
Russian and Afghan leaders in Sochi last summer.
Rassoul will discuss with his Russian counterparts "the state of and
prospects for Russian-Afghan cooperation," Avetisyan said. "The protocol
on ministerial consultations is expected to be signed."
Along with this the diplomat noted that "no concrete agreements on
economic and military-technical cooperation are expected to be signed."
"Possibly, some new intergovernmental agreements will be ready for
signing during the high-level visit next year," he said.
