MOSCOW, November 19 (Itar-Tass) - Russia will continue to help
Afghanistan to strengthen its armed forces and police, Russia's ambassador
to Kabul, Andrei Avetisyan, said in an exclusive interview with Itar-Tass
on Friday.
"We've received applications from Afghanistan for a wide range of
Russia's different military hardware, equipment and arms," he said. "I
believe in the future there will be concrete agreements."
At the same time the diplomat noted that "in the short-term plans such
supplies are not on the agenda."
In general, Avetisyan highly appreciated prospects for military and
technical cooperation with Afghanistan.
"Russia's arms and hardware brilliantly recommended themselves in
Afghanistan's conditions. Really, we have many opportunities," he said.
