The Promoting Community Management Model project has helped improve living conditions

Hoa Binh (VNA)- The Promoting Community Management Model (PCMM) project, which is underway in Ky Son district of the northern province of Hoa Binh, has helped improve
living conditions as well as cultural life for local people.

A delegation of representative from the Norwegian Embassy and ambassadors from the
Embassies of Switzerland, Canada, New Zealand made the assessment on their visit
to the province on Nov.18.

The PCMM project, funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation
(SADC), was launched in April, 2009. So far, 50 sub-projects have been implemented
at total costs of over one billion VND, of which 600 million VND were contributed
by the SADC, contributed to upgrading infrastructures and reducing poverty in
disadvantaged area as well as promoting and restoring traditional music.

During their stay, the delegation also went on a field trip to inspect two
sub-projects on building roads to two schools in Phuc Tien commune, and a water
system.

Jean-Hubert Lebet, Ambassador of Switzerland to Vietnam, suggested that the
sub-project be expanded to other disadvantaged areas in the near future.-Enditem
