Hanoi (VNA) – The Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee on Nov. 18 decided to give 4
billion VND to four flood-hit provinces in the central region with the aim to help
the victims to overcome flood consequences.
Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Ninh Thuan and Binh Dinh provinces will receive 1 billion VND
each.
The new donation has brought the total amount of aid, Hanoi has given to flood
victims in central provinces after three floods to 14 billion VND. Of the total,
5 billion VND was the result of the cancellation of fireworks during the 1,000th
anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.
Torrential rains have triggered floods in south-central provinces since late
October, killing at least 12 people and leaving two missing.
More than 44,500 households and many roads and highways in the region have been
submerged under 0.2-2m of floods.-Enditem
