ZANDANSHATAR MEETS JAPANESE DELEGATES
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ As part of the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj's visit to Japan, a Minister of Foreign Affairs G.Zandanshatar met with Mr. Katsuya Okada, the former Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, General Secretary of Democratic Party of Japan, and a member of the House of Representatives of Japan, on Friday.
The sides expressed a mutual satisfaction with the intensive development of the bilateral relations and unanimously agreed on importance of elevating the ties to the strategy level. They emphasized the Agreement on Economic Cooperation (EPA) plays an important role in expanding economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
Zandanshatar, in particular, emphasized the promotion and progress made in recent years in the Mongolian-Japanese economic cooperation. "The successful completion of our President's visit to Japan is a result of active support given by Your on foreign minister's post," he said.
The dignitaries exchanged views on cooperation between the parties through the political parties with a mandate in parliament.
"Expanding a scope of cooperation in the mining industry of Mongolia gives us an important opportunity to deepen a cooperation in tourism and other industries," said Mr. Okada.
G.Zandanshatar and K.Okada also noted the opportunities to cooperate in the framework of the North-East Asia.
Attending the meeting were Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Chinami Nishimura, the head of the Standing Committee on Justice, members of the DP of Japan.
