PRESIDENT VISITS JAPANESE LEADING COMPANIES

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj has visited the “Nippon Steel" corporation in Tokyo and the "Shimadzu" company in Kyoto.
The corporation is a leading world producer of steel and metal products, known in the world for its advanced technique and technology and has 13 branches in Asia and Europe, in the USA and Australia. "Nippon Steel" is also engaged in activities in the sectors such as urban development, building materials production, engineering facilities. Products of the corporation are used in shipbuilding, construction projects as well as in auto industry. The volume of items of this product by Nippon Steel, exported to China, South Korea and Thailand is 84 percent.
The corporation's head Shoji Muneoka has said,"the main raw materials of steel production as iron ore and coal mostly imported from Australia, Brazil, Canada. We are interested in the Tavan Tolgoi project and are ready to cooperate with the Mongolian side in exploiting this colossal deposit and in solving the project's infrastructure and road transport problems," he said.
In turn, the President Elbegdorj said,"We are also ready to cooperate with the Japanese producers who are responsible, who use nature-friendly hi-tech, and are transparent as well as open in work."
The "Shimadzu", located in the city of Kyoto, is known for its introducing newest technologies and is one of the world's leading manufacturers of medical, analytical, biotech equipment, instruments for environmental research, industrial and aerospace equipment. In its activity, the "Shimadzu" uses the motto "Advances in science and technology--for the benefit of mankind and the environment." In medical sphere the "Shimadzu" produces ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus, X-ray digital remote controlled systems, ward and operating portable X-ray machines, ceiling and floor angiographic system, digital radiographic system, many of which have been used in Mongolia. In 2003, a scientist of "Shimadzu" company was awarded the Nobel Prize.
