.Zubkov to discuss bilateral cooperation in Israel.

MOSCOW, November 17 (Itar-Tass) - Russia's First Vice-Premier Viktor
Zubkov goes to Israel on Wednesday for a working tour to discuss bilateral
cooperation and attend a Russo-Israeli business forum.
A government press service official has said the programme for the
visit provides for Zubkov's meetings with Israeli President Shimon Peres
and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. Zubkov is to co-chair the 8th
session of the mixed Russo-Israeli commission on trade-and-economic
cooperation together with Avigdor Lieberman, Israeli Deputy Prime Minister
and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The press service official pointed out, "During the forthcoming
meetings and talks with the leadership of Israel Zubkov will discuss
matters concerning a further stimulation of bilateral trade, as well as
joint participation in large-scale economic and investment projects. As a
result of the talks it is planned to map out a plan for further joint
actions in such priority areas as the energy sector, transport,
telecommunications, space research, and agriculture".
Specific projects to be discussed concern the development of yet
another communications satellite in Russia in the interests of Israel,
joint construction of a plant for the production of combifodder in Rostov
Region, the start-up of a plant for the manufacture of medicinal
preparations by an Israeli pharmaceutical company, the start of the
financing of over 20 industrial research-and-development cooperation
projects, selected by the ROSNANO state corporation and its Israeli
partners.
The discussion of practical implementation of bilateral cooperation
projects will be continued at the second Russo-Israeli business forum. The
first session was held in Moscow in March 2010.
"Zubkov's visit will be made against the background of dynamic
development of the entire spectrum of Russo-Israeli bilateral contacts,"
the press service official emphasized.
The number of reciprocal business and tourist trips between Russia and
Israel has been growing. Over the first six months of this year, the
number of Russians visiting Israel grew almost by half and was more than
400,000. Additional efforts to boost bilateral tourist contacts are to be
considered separately. In particular, a 2011-2012 Joint Action Programme
is to be signed during Zubkov's visit in implementation of the Agreement
on cooperation in the field of tourism.
The trend in trade-and-economic cooperation between the two countries
is also positive. Within the period from January to September this year,
bilateral goods turnover grew by 57 percent to run at almost $2,000
million. This was more than that recorded in the entire 2009 ($1,700
million).
