VLADIVOSTOK, November 16 (Itar-Tass) - The first facilities to
accommodate the APEC summit in 2012 in Russia's far eastern port city of
Vladivostok will be commissioned as scheduled by yearend, Primorye
Territory governor Sergei Darkin told a news conference here on Tuesday.
"The construction of a modern factory to recycle domestic waste is
nearing completion. Its commissioning will enable us to shut down solid
refuse dump in the Gornostai Bay. In December, we plan to commission the
3rd water supply line, which will not only provide water to Pervomaisky,
Vladivostok's largest district, but allow for starting the project to
build a new neighbourhood in the Patroclus Bay.
"In early 2011, we plan to launch the first phase of the water supply
system from the Pushkin ground water deposits, which will provide for the
complete solution of Vladivostok's water supply problem," Darkin said.
"The most complex APEC summit facilities, such as bridges and roads,
are being built fast, according to schedule. It's less than two years left
till the summit in Vladivostok. The construction of the facilities runs at
a high rate, so there's complete confidence that all the works will be
completed on time," the governor underlined.
