Saudi Aramco's CEO speaks on important role of Aramco Services
Riyadh, August 06, SPA -- Abdullah S. Jumah, the CEO of Saudi
Aramco has affirmed that Aramco Services Company (ASC) and its
affiliates are doing important work that has a direct and positive
impact on the enterprise.
Jumah made these remarks at an event held recently in Houston, Texas
by ASC employees and retirees to celebrate Saudi Aramco’s 75th
anniversary.
He emphasized the importance of the American connection, saying that
it is a source of strength, success and pride.
Jumah acknowledged the important role the ASC team plays in company
activities and thanked current and past Aramco Services Co. employees
for the valuable contributions they have made to Saudi Aramco over
many years.
“On behalf of the 52, 000 employees at Saudi Aramco: Thank you for a
job well done, " Jumah told the gathering of about 1, 000 current and
retired employees and their guests, as well as Saudi Aramco-sponsored
students in the Houston area.
Jumah spoke of ASC’s involvement in major projects, saying the
company is making significant contributions in such areas as
procurement, engineering, recruitment and career development and is
supporting Saudi Aramco’s Project Management teams in North America.
He also paid tribute to Max Steineke, the American geologist whose
untiring work led to the discovery of oil in Saudi Arabia.
Jum‘ah said that, today, Steineke’s image is prominently displayed
at the Saudi Aramco Exhibit, and Steineke Hall in Dhahran is named in
his honor.
“Just three generations ago, the successful collaboration between
United States oil companies and Saudi Arabia not only led to the
discovery of the greatest energy reserves in the world but also laid
the foundation for building the world’s largest integrated petroleum
company, " said Mohammed S. Qahtani, ASC president and CEO.
“Over the years, ASC has earned a well-deserved reputation for
consistently providing the highest levels of service and support to
Saudi Aramco.†He added that, during his yearlong association with
ASC employees, he has seen an “impressive commitment to excellence, a
productive spirit of cross-functional teamwork and a consistent
ability to respond effectively in a rapidly changing business
environment.â€
Additionally, three speakers representing Saudi Aramco’s past,
present and future addressed the gathering.
Mohammed F. Aljishi, who graduated last spring from Rice University
in Houston with a chemical engineering degree, represented the future
and talked about his eagerness to begin contributing to Saudi
Aramco’s growth through his work in its Research and Development
Center.
Reem A. Ghanim, an adviser in ASC Career Development, talked about
her role in helping guide a group of Saudi female students in North
America and her own opportunities for success within the company,
according to a latest report carried by Saudi Aramco's web-site.
Michael Erspamer, a retiree who worked at both Saudi Aramco and
Saudi Refining Inc., talked about his 33-year career with the
company, saying that it was the “best place on earth†to work.
