Mottaki attends Iran-Afghan economic cooperation commission
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Monday attended Iran-Afghan Joint Economic Cooperation Commission in Tehran.
He called for expansion of economic cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan in line with current satisfactory political ties.
Mottaki made the remarks in the third Iran-Afghanistan Joint Economic Commission.
Such meeting demonstrates commonalities between these two great nations which has roots in the will of their high ranking officials mainly the presidents of Iran and Afghanistan, he said.
Referring to historical, cultural, language common grounds and civilization affinity, the two nations would benefit from such privileges, Mottaki said.
Mottaki said that Iran is pleased with holding democratic elections in Afghanistan -- the presidential and parliamentary elections.
The Iranian foreign minister expressed the hope to witness deeply-rooted stability and tranquility in Afghanistan.
Afghan Foreign Minister, Zalmai Rasoul for his part called for expansion of all-out cooperation between the two countries and termed the current level of ties between Iran and Afghanistan as 'excellent'.
