Doobie Brothers to tour Australia

The Doobie Brothers will tour Australia in 2011 as part of the band's 40th
anniversary celebrations.
The Californian pop rock outfit will play dates in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth,
Brisbane and Sydney throughout March.
Named after a slang word for marijuana cigarettes, The Doobie Brothers evolved from
a post hippy boogie collective to a slick soul band over the course of the 1970s.
Founders Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons may be all that's left of the original line-up
but an ever evolving live act has rarely been far from the stage.
Best known for hits like Listen To The Music and China Grove, The Doobie Brothers
have sold more than 30 million albums over four decades.
In 2004 they were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall Of Fame and their current world
tour comes on the back of a first record in 10 years, World Gone Crazy.
The Doobie Brothers play the following dates:
March 18 - Melbourne's Palais Theatre
March 20 - Adelaide Clipsal 500
March 22 - Perth's Burwood Theatre
March 24 - Brisbane Convention Centre
March 25 - Sydney's Enmore Theatre
