DPRK develops nuclear containment forces in response to US policy.

PYONGYANG, November 14 (Itar-Tass) - North Korea has developed its own
nuclear containment forces "in response to the policy of nuclear blackmail
and threats from the United States", writes on Sunday the leading
newspaper Rodong Sinmun.
The newspaper notes that the US develops new types of nuclear weapons
and tries at the same time to put under its control the process of their
development and modernisation in other countries. More, the newspaper
emphasises, Washington "pursues the policy of threats against independent
anti-imperialist states, possessing no nuclear weapons".
"Washington singled out the DPRK long ago as one of targets for its
preventive nuclear strike," Rodong Sinmun notes.
Under these conditions, the people and the army of the republic
perceived that "it is possible to ensure protection of the revolution's
gains only with nuclear containment forces". Thus, the creation of nuclear
weapons in North Korea "was prompted by the need for countering the
nuclear blackmail of the US, seeking to establish its sway all over the
world," the newspaper summed up.
