Late Roar goal pinches win from Heart

A last-gasp Jean Carlos Solorzano goal gave Brisbane Roar a thrilling 2-1 win over
Melbourne Heart at AAMI Park on Sunday to extend their lead atop the A-League to
four points.
In an entertaining, high-quality match between two in-form sides, the Roar came from
a goal down at halftime to stretch their unbeaten run to 10 games.
Second half goals to Kosta Barbarouses and Solorzano, who netted the winner in the
88th minute, sealed the Roar's win.
The Heart had the better of an excellent first half, and took the lead on 11 minutes
when Adrian Zahra freed Michael Marrone down the right, with striker Gerald Sibon
finishing brilliantly.
They should have gone two-up when winger Rutger Worm hit the post with a header five
minutes later after a gem of a Josip Skoko cross.
But the Roar spent the second half tightening the noose on the Heart, and eventually
equalised when the busy Kosta Barbarouses finished off a neat one-two with
substitute Mitch Nichols in the 65th minute.
The Heart spent the rest of the match with fingernails perched on the cliff, as the
Roar unlocked their defence with wave after wave of intricate short passing.
Costa Rican Solorzano was brought down in the box by Marrone on 72 minutes, but Ivan
Franjic's penalty was well saved by Heart goalkeeper Clint Bolton.
But the relentless Roar pressure eventually told when Thomas Broich, Nichols and
Franjic combined in another delightful move - Franjic's shot hitting the post and
Solorzano pouncing on the rebound with two minutes remaining.
The Roar now go to 32 points, four clear of second-placed Adelaide United who were
beaten 3-1 by Newcastle on Saturday night.
The Heart remain in the top six despite their defeat.
