Iran wins silver medal in Damascus Film Festival
Iranian film named “ Please do not disturb “ directed by Iranian director “ Mohsen Abdolvahhab” won silver medal of 18th Damascus Film Festival.
Gold medal of the festival was given to film “ Outlaws” from Algeria and bronze prize to Syrian movie “ September rain” .
Prize of Mustafa al-Akkad, in the field of best director, was presented to Turkish movie “Kuzmos”.
Akkad was a prominent Syrian-American movie director, who was killed in Jordan with his daughter in a hotel bomb blast by al-Qaeda in the year 2005.
The festival started its work on Sunday November 7, 2010 and wrapped up its work on Saturday evening .
Movies from 45 countries including 222 long films and 93 short ones were displayed in the festival.
