Trans-Korean Railway to help two Koreas resolve problems - Medvedev.

SEOUL, November 12 (Itar-Tass) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has
expressed confidence that the construction of the Trans-Korean Railway
would help resolve problems between the two Koreas.
"The project of creating the Trans-Korean railway would help to
resolve problems in relations between South and North Koreas," he told a
news conference in Seoul on Friday.
He noted that the parties continue to discuss the project.
"Not only money, but also participants' good will is necessary for the
project's implementation," Medvedev said. "We've repeatedly discussed the
project and consider it attractive not only from commercial, but what is
most important from political point of view."
The construction of the Trans-Korean Railway and its connection with
the Trans-Siberian Railway will help to increase rail shipments between
Russia, North Korea and South Korea as well as transit cargoes between
South Korea and Europe.
Experts forecast that in the future the railway container throughput
will reach 1 million a year.
