Iran self sufficient in chopper repairs, renovations: official

Deputy head of Iranian Helicopters Repairs and Renovation Company (PANHA) in sales affairs said here Friday mighty Iranian technicians have reached self sufficiency in this field despite imposed sanctions.


Hossein Sha’bani who was speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of the closing ceremony of the 5th Iran International Air Fare, added, “Our technicians can now accept all kinds of repairs and renovation services for the military and civilian helicopters and the country has reach self sufficiency in this regard from A to Z of the industry.”
He added, “Following ceasing the country’s dependence on the United States in this field, and despite the unjustly imposed sanctions, the highly qualified patriot, and pious Iranian technicians have today reached self sufficiency in the field of repairing and renovating the country’s helicopter fleet after years of hard work.”
Pointing out that PANHA Company has in line with such activities also designed an manufactured the body of a commercial helicopter, emphasizing, “After accomplishing that great achievement, the technicians of this center sought and gained the cooperation and capabilities of the other related industries and technicians for manufacturing the engine of the Iranian chopper, and we have thus begun manufacturing all Iranian commercial helicopters whose first versions have gained broad satisfaction of our civilian clients.”
He said that his affiliated firm’s most important sections include the Maintenance and Repairs Department, the Overhaul Repairs Department, and the Logistical Back Up Department of PNAHA, arguing, “This company has so far acquired overhaul repairs licenses for civilian 205, 212, and 214 helicopters from the State Aviation Organization and we are still after acquiring the licenses for the repairs and maintenance of other types of helicopters that exist in Iran from that organization.”
According to this official, repairs of the dynamic parts, repairs of the flipper, repairs of the chopper engine’s hydraulic system, repairs of the helicopters’ electrical and instrumental systems, and… are among the services provided fully by Iranian technicians in the filed at PANHA.
Sha’bani said that in addition to repairs, renovations and body building of the first ever Iranian helicopter, PANHA is now manufacturing various types of metallic and non-metallic helicopter spare parts, such as poly-glass and polycarbonate parts, and resin parts, that latter ones are used in shaping up helicopter body under a 400 metric ton pressure.
Pointing out that quality says the first word in this field of services and maintaining high quality plays the most important role in air industry, he reiterated, “Monitoring and quality control checks of the entire products of PANHA is run routinely and painstakingly by qualified personnel and according to the latest international aviation standards of the world.”
