12/11 Tass 262
ASTANA, November 12 (Itar-Tass) - A second meeting of officials from
five international organisations - the United Nations, the OSCE, NATO, the
Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) and the Commonwealth of
Independent States (CIS), is due to take place within the framework of the
upcoming OSCE summit in Astana.
"This means that the activity of international organisations
specializing in security issues is being coordinated," CSTO Secretary
General Nikolai Bordyuzha said at talks with Kazakh President Nursultan
Nazarbayev.
Bordyuzha also informed the Kazakh leader on preparations for a
session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, due in Moscow on December
10. Bordyuzha gave high marks to the role of Kazakhstan as president of
the OSCE in the settlement of the conflict in Kyrgyzstan.
According to him," it is particularly important that within the
framework of that work, the OSCE for the first time began coordinating its
activity with the CSTO and other international organisations".
"During the dramatic events in Kyrgyzstan, our representatives met
regularly, exchanged information and assessments, discussed more efficient
measures to help the Kyrgyz people," he stressed.
"Kazakhstan's OSCE presidency excites general admiration," Bordyuzha
emphasized.
