Medvedev to wind up visit to Seoul, to attend G20 Summit.



SEOUL, November 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev
will wind up the official visit to the Republic of Korea on Thursday and
attend the G20 Summit on November 11-12.
During the final event of the official visit, the authorities of the
South Korean city of Incheon (Chemulpo) will hand over the Varyag cruiser'
s flag to the Russian delegation.
Along with another 13 objects from the cruiser, the flag was seized by
the Japanese after the Battle of Chemulpo, but ended up in South Korea
after Japan's defeat in Worlds War II.
Under Korean laws, objects of cultural heritage cannot be handed over
to other countries. So the flag from the Varyag will be returned to Russia
for permanent storage on condition that it should be put up on display in
South Korea from time to time.
At the G20 Summit, Medvedev will chair and speak at one of the
roundtable sessions of a business forum that will focus on the role of
business in ensuring sustainable and balanced demand. The session will
focus on how to spur trade and direct investments as well as on support to
small and medium-sized business.
The business forum is designed to become a tool for forging
interaction between the government and entrepreneurs in order to overcome
the consequences of the global economic and financial crisis, invigorate
economic activities and ensure sustainable and balanced growth.
The leaders of Argentina, the European Union, Indonesia, Spain,
Mexico, South Africa, Japan, Australia, and Great Britain have confirmed
their participation in the roundtable discussions.
Medvedev will also have separate meetings with the prime ministers of
Australia and Britain, Julia Gillard and David Cameron. Another one-to-one
meeting is scheduled with Chinese President Hu Jintao.
A reception given by South Korean President Lee Myung-bak for the G20
leaders will wind up the working day.

.Insurance company pays compensation to RusHydro for SS HPP accident.

MOSCOW, November 11 (Itar-Tass) -- The insurance company ROSNO has
paid 200 million U.S. dollars to RusHydro in compensation for the damage
caused by the accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydropower plant in
August 2009.
The company has thus fulfilled its obligations to RusHydro, the plant'
s owner, which arose in connection with the world's biggest insurance
event in the field of electric power risks.
The Sayano-Shushenskaya hydropower plant is located in Khakassia on
the river Yenisei, 180 kilometres from Abakan and is the biggest
hydropower plant in Russia. Its dam is 242 metres high and 1,066
kilometres long. Its rated capacity is 6,700 megawatts. The last unit was
commissioned in 1978. The power plant generated about 24 billion
kilowatts/hour annually.

.Russian govt to discuss one-company towns' problems Nov 18.

SAMARA, November 11 (Itar-Tass) -- The Russian government will discuss
problems related to one-company towns at its meeting on November 18, First
Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said.
The government will review the results of economic diversification in
such towns, including Togliatti.
"The level of unemployment in Togliatti is lower than in company
towns, and the regional administration has a clear understanding how the
city should develop further," Shuvalov said.
He chaired a meeting on Wednesday, November 10, that focused on the
socio-economic development of Togliatti and the Samara region and the
implementation of Togliatti's comprehensive investment plan.
Samara region Governor Vladimir Artyakov, Director-General of
Rostekhnologii state-owned high-tech corporation and AVTOVAZ carmaker
Board of Directors Chairman Sergei Chemezov, and officials from federal
ministries and agencies attended the meeting.
During the trip to Togliatti, Shuvalov visited production facilities
at AVTOVAZ. He took a look at new equipment and stressed that the plant
should continue modernisation and retooling.
"We should think what we should do with the AVTOVAZ subsidiaries which
were created for employing the plant's workers and which currently employ
around 3,700 people. We should also decide what we should do with the
non-core assets that remain on the plant's books," Shuvalov said.

.Finnish PM, St Petersburg governor to discuss trade, economic
cooperation.

HELSINKI, November 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Finnish Prime Minister Mari
Kiviniemi will make a one-day visit to St. Petersburg on Thursday,
November 11.
This is Kiviniemi's first visit to Russia as prime minister.
During the visit, Kiviniemi will meet with St. Petersburg Governor
Valentina Matviyenko to discuss trade and economic cooperation, the
Finnish government press service said.
At the House of Finland in the centre of St. Petersburg, which is
considered the centre of Finnish culture, business and science, Kiviniemi
will confer with Finnish companies' CEOs working in Russia. She will also
visit the Institute of Finland and a Finnish school.
The prime minister will also attend the opening ceremony at a big
shopping centre in St. Petersburg.
