RF authorities to continue development of microlending-Medvedev.
SEOUL, November 11 (Itar-Tass) - The Russian government intends to
continue work on the development of microlending, Russian President Dmitry
Medvedev announced at a roundtable of the business summit, "The role of
business in ensuring sustainable and balanced demand."
"Microfinance is an important element of the financial system of
Russia, its volumes have grown," Medvedev noted. He recalled that this
sphere has become part of a plan of action to implement the government's
anti-crisis measures, and a special law on microfinance and microfinance
institutions was adopted this summer.
"We will surely continue this work in the country," the president
stressed.
"The expansion of microlending and the provision of innovative
financial services will create new jobs in small businesses, consequently,
will help combat unemployment," said the president. "The G20 solutions
should facilitate the establishment of the institutional environment with
clear schemes of accountability and coordination of intra-government
structures, to encourage partnerships and direct consultation between
government and business," he believes.
Medvedev said the creation of business incubators is another efficient
sphere of the work. "This is a promising sphere that has already
successfully established itself in Russia," he said. "I believe that it is
one of the key challenges at present," the president said stressing that
business incubators are oriented towards small and medium-sized businesses
and the introduction of new technologies.
