Iran, Qatar discuss customs office cooperation


Head of Iran Customs Office Ardeshir Mohammadi on Tuesday held talks with his Qatari Counterpart Ahmad Ali Muhammad Al-Monhadi on issues of mutual interests.


The two officials discussed ways to facilitate trade, enhance level of trade and remove the problems in this respect.

Meanwhile, the Iranian head of customs office proposed a draft agreement to the Qatari side on customs cooperation.

Tehran and Doha trade stood at dlrs 56.71 million in the first seven months of the current Iranian year started on March 21, 2010 of which over dlrs 40 million refers to Iran export to Qatar.

Mohammadi accompanying First Vice-President of Iran Mohammad-Reza Rahimi arrived in Doha for two-day visit on Sunday.

Talking to IRNA correspondent in Doha, Rahimi said that Iran does not hesitate to upgrade trade and economic cooperation with Qatar.

He added his visit to Qatar is a great stride towards expansion of economic cooperation to keep up with the current excellent political ties.

On Tehran-Doha ties in the international arenas as well as their political cooperation, Iran's vice-president said the two enjoy good relations in those fields hoping Iran and Qatar will develop the level of economic cooperation as well.
