DUSHANBE, November 9 (Itar-Tass) - Tajik President Emomali Rakhmon on
Tuesday urged CIS secret services and security agencies to cooperate more
actively in fight against international terrorism, religious extremism and
other global challenges.
"No country can alone cope with terrorism and ensure its own security
in conditions of globalisation," the president stressed, addressing the
participants of the 29th session of the CIS Council of the Heads of
Security Agencies and Intelligence Services.
"The global financial crisis has made it possible for certain
political forces to use terrorism in their geopolitical games," president
Rakhmon noted.
The participants in the session, chaired by the head of the Council of
the Heads of Security Agencies and Intelligence Services Alexander
Bortnikov (Russian FSB Director), discussed on Tuesday the strengthening
of CIS countries' security, more efficient measures in fight against
present threats and challenges, the importance of reinforcing the CIS
