Russia urges Asian countries to hold emergency response meeting.

MOSCOW, November 9 (Itar-Tass) - Russia has called on Asian countries
to hold a meeting of experts on emergency response in Moscow in May 2011,
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told a session of the Asia
Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) member-states on Tuesday.
"Russia considers the Asia Cooperation Dialogue a promising forum and
plans to actively participate in its activities in the future," he said.
"This is an important component of our country's policy towards
strengthening cooperation with the countries of the Asia-Pacific Region
and joining regional integration processes."
"The Asia Cooperation Dialogue is a comfortable platform for practical
cooperation not bounded by political restraints," Ryabkov said.
Ryabkov assured that "Russia as a coordinator of cooperation in
prevention and elimination of emergency situations plans to actively
fulfil these functions in the future."
