Another CD on cash-for-vote scam surfaces
New Delhi, Aug 5 (PTI) - Another C.D. on the cash-for-
votes episode surfaced Monday with three United Progressive
Alliance parties claiming that the B.J.P. had stage managed
the entire show for political gains.
"All the claims of B.J.P. leaders have been proved wrong," Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said while releasing the C.D. at a joint press conference with Rashtriya Janata Dal (R.J.D.) chief Lalu Prasad and and L.J.P. leader Ram Vilas Paswan here.
"When some people visited the B.J.P. M.P's house to deliver money why was it not handed over to police. Fingerprinting tests could have led to some evidence," he said.
The entire incident was "cooked up" by the Bharatiya Janata Party to make it a poll issue in the next elections. The total number of CDs in circulation on cash-for- votes scandal has now gone up to three.
Paswan also said the entire episode was a drama enacted by the B.J.P.
Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh, who has been accused of being involved in the scam, questioned the integrity of the saffron party leaders in this matter.
"Assuming that I or my wife had given the money, then why the B.J.P. leaders did not ask for forensic test. Why did they not demand for fingerprints of mine or my wife's?"
He said if there is any evidence of his involvement in the episode, he would quit the party.
