TURKISH DEFENCE MINISTER ARRIVES
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Invited by Mongolia's Defence Minister L.Bold, a Turkish Minister of Defence Vecdi Gonul has arrived in Ulaanbaatar with the official visit.
The guest and accompanying him ten delegates were welcomed by Vice-Minister of Defence S.Baasankhuu on Tuesday.
At the Defence Ministry, the two dignitaries were met by the Guard of honour and the Ministry's state secretary Major-General M.Borbaatar.
The Ministers ran negotiations on the cooperation issues and signed "Mongolia-Turkey Intergovernmental Agreement on Non-refundable Military Aid". It means that the Turkish side gives the Mongolian defence sector the 800 thousand Dollars help.
The Ministers have called press-conference. "We intend to elevate the ties and cooperation with Turkey's defence sphere into a newer level," L.Bold said. "Turkey is famous worldwide for its military garment industry, so we have shared opinions on cooperating in this field," he added.
"Out of 60 Mongolian students studying at Turkey scholarships, only 12 are majoring in military sciences, and we intend to increase this number," said Mr. Gonul.
The visit will end November 11.
