Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) has been re-named as the Mongolian People's Party--Mongol Ardyn Nam (MPP). It happened at around 19 pm Friday during the 26th Congress of the former MPRP.
Almost all the 800 participants, except six, voted for the draft resolution on changing the name of the party. Among standing against were former president N.Enkhbayar and Ts.Shinebayar MP.
Not less inspiration for voting "for" was given by former president N.Bagabandi and others who addressed with the appeal in a form of the Mongolian lyrics.
Thus the word "revolutionary" has been deleted from the oldest in the country party's name being left for the history, and the initial name has been revived. Secretary-General of the party U.Khurelsukh showed the very first seal of the MPP Central Committee made in 1922 and said,"It was consecrated by His Holiness Bogd and created by D.Bodoo (that times Premier)," and sincerely congratulated the gathered.
There was an atmosphere of excitement, several times was shown a scene from the "Morning" history feature film where the military leader D.Sukhbaatar says "Long live the People's Party and the People's Power!", cheerful and loud applause continued for some time.
The Head of former MPRP S.Batbold said in his speech that the party is determined to be the political force that combines traditions and renovation. "This name inherited from our fathers and mothers has been kept in minds of our members the last 20 years, and today it has come back. Our people are contented, so let's be contented in real!" he exclaimed.
On Monday next week, the authorities of the MPP will go to the Supreme Court to have their party officialy registered with the new name.

The same day but mush later--the Congress ended around 5am next day--a selection of the MPP was concluded.
The election of the MPP leader was held by the secret ballot. Current leader S.Batbold ran against U.Enkhtuvshin, Chairman of the Standing Committee of parliament, and D.Demberel, Speaker of the State Great Hural, names of whom were nominated by the delegates during the Congress. Since Speaker D.Demberel had withdrawn his name before the casting began, the remaining two candidates addressed the Congress with their platform speeches. 788 delegates cast their votes and incumbent leader S.Batbold emerged as a clear winner with 85 per cent of votes in his favor. Out of 788 ballots, S.Batbold received 657 votes, while U.Enkhtuvshin got 116 votes.
Once the Congress Ballot Committee finalized the voting results, U.Khurelsukh, the Secretary-General of the party, made an official announcement of the ballot results, and handed in to the new Chairman of the MPP an original stamp of the Party, which was made in 1922.
After the ceremony, S.Batbold addressed the Congress stressing needs to further deepen the party reform efforts and strengthen its unity. He also emphasized that as the new Leader of the Party, he would do his utmost to keep the election promises and secure the victory in the next Parliamentary elections, scheduled in 2012.
He noted that the Party's policy will be aimed at directing the country's economic growth to the need of human development, reduction of joblessness and poverty.
The Congress continued November 7.

These days, the annual "Autumn" exhibition, traditionnally hosted by the Union of Mongolian Artists, is continuing its work. Opened Monday in the Exhibition Hall of the Union, the exhibition will last two weeks with presenting the 2010 works by Mongolian artists, and the best painting being selected for awards.
Among some 170 works by more than 140 professional artists, this year's best ones have been recognized the "Summer of white stupa" painted by D.Badam, "Force of attraction" sculpture by A.Ochirbold, "Balance" leather art work by T.Battulga.
The exhibition gives visitors a good opportunity to experience a harmony of traditional and modern trends of the fine art. A peculiarity of this year's creations is that a greater emphasize has been given to environmental, ecological and social problems, the art critics say.

Five stock trades were held at Mongolia's Stock Exchange /MSE/ from November 1st to November 5. In overall, 6.7 mln shares of 43 JSCs were sold totaling 21.8 billion MNT trade.
Index top - 20 gained 13 200.86 points during the week. It went up 285.56 units or 2.2% against the previous week. The total market capitalization was set at MNT one trillion and 202.2 billion increasing by MNT 28.3 billion or 2.4%. The rate of shares of " Makh impex" JCS / 48.9% /, " Sor" / 32.1% / and " Suu" /31.6% / were increased, but, " Almaas" / 14.1%/, " Mongol shiltgeen" / 9.1%/ and " Zoos goyol" / 6.9%/ JSCs were gone down. According to the results of the week, 26 stocks closed higher, 7 shares declined and 10 shares remained unchanged.
Shares of " Baganuur" JSC / 3 million units/, "Khukh gan" /2.3 million units/ and " Hermes center " /531.9 thousand units/ were actively traded in terms of trading volume, but in terms of trading value - " Baganuur" /MNT 19.3 billion/, " BiDiSek" /MNT 987.3 million/ and " Shariin gol " /MNT 645.7 million/.
