Woods out of contention at WGC event

Tiger Woods dropped out of contention, 11 strokes from the lead after a mediocre
third round at the HSBC Champions tournament on Saturday.
"Not a very good day," Woods admitted after a one-over-par 73 in the World Golf
Championships event at Sheshan.
He is equal 17th, while Italian Francesco Molinari retained his lead with a stellar
67, sinking a three-metre birdie at the last to stay one stroke clear of Englishman
Lee Westwood at 14-under 202.
It's probably a two-man race, with another Englishman, Luke Donald, four strokes
from the lead in third place.
Woods, in his final appearance before next weeks Australian Masters, birdied the
first hole but bogeys at the next two halted his momentum.
"I missed a lot of makeable putts, didn't hit the ball very well and just never got
anything going," he lamented.
"I had a good first round and the last two days I haven't done too much."
Robert Allenby (72) is the leading Australian, 10 strokes behind, while Richard
Green (73) trails by 11.
Allenby fought back nicely after a poor front nine but a three-putt par from seven
metres at the par-five 18th left a nasty taste.
"Not a pleasant feeling, but I'm not going to win, so it doesn't matter," he said.
"I didn't play great all day but it's just disappointing the way I finished because
it was a tough day and I ground it out."
Leader Molinari made a rare eagle at the par-four 13th and did just enough to hold
off new world No.1 Westwood, who demonstrated that his lofty ranking is no fluke
with a bogey-free performance.
