Azerbaijan's president and his wife vote at general elections.

BAKU, November 7 (Itar-Tass) - Azerbaijan's President Ilkham Aliev
voted at the general elections, now in progress in the country. The head of state arrived at the sixth election precinct of the 29th Sabailsky constituency with his wife Mekhriban Alieva, who also runs at the present elections in one of Baku suburban constituencies.

The precinct is located at a secondary school No.6, from which Aliev
graduated. The election list here consists of 770 Azerbaijan's registered
voters.
The Azerbaijan's leader and his wife cast ballots into ballot boxes,
refraining from any comments for the press.
All in all, candidates from 23 political parties participate in the
elections, with 13 of them being merged into five election blocs. Nearly
half of 690 aspirants for parliamentary seats are non-party men.
According to the Central Election Commission, 10.61 percent of voters
used their right to vote over the two first hours at polling stations (at
10:00 Local Time).
Some international observers, whose numbers top 1,000 at the present
elections, point to relatively high activities of the electorate. For
instance an observer from Spain, Joaquin Ramirez, noted that he was
"impressed by the number of voters that came to polling stations in some
constituencies at early morning hours".
The weather possibly promotes the electorate's activities: it is
unusually warm and sunny in Baku and all over the country this Sunday.
