Iran VP says Tehran-Doha ties, strong
First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi said here, prior to his departure for Doha, on Sunday that the two brotherly countries of Iran and Qatar enjoy strong relations.
Talking to reporters at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, Rahimi said the effective role Qatar plays in solving the issues of Palestine and Gaza is a basis for Tehran-Doha friendly ties.
Iran's first vice-president further said Tehran and Doha should promote the economic cooperation to keep pace with their political relations.
Iran's Rahimi will visit Qatar at the invitation of Qatari Crown Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani aiming to prepare ground for implementation of bilateral agreements between the two countries.
The talks between the two countries' officials will majorly focus on the economic issues.
