MONGOLIAN DELEGATION IN THE ESCAP SESSION ON TRANSPORT

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Mongolian delegation led by Mr R.Onon, deputy chief of the Road Agency at the Ministry of Roads, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development, took part in the Second session of the UN ESCAP Committee on Transport that was held in Bangkok,Tailand, November 1-3.
The session has gathered over 100 participants from 30 countries across the Asia-Pacific region. They have discussed a review of implementation of the Busan Declaration on Transport development in the region, transport issues related to promoting regional connectivity, transport policy, infrastructure and logistics. The session has also focused on some issues such as the structure of an intergovernemental agreement on dry ports and the preparations for the ministerial conference scheduled Nov. 2011.
Besides the Commitee's session, the Mongolian delegation has taken part in the experts' meeting to present reports on the course of road construction in our country in the AH-3, AN-4 and AN-32 directions of the Asian Highway network as well as the plan to erect 4 dry ports in Mongoia.
Summary of the results of the session will be submitted to the 67th plenary session of ESCAP scheduled for 2011.
