Mottaki: Iran-Georgia ties enter a new phase

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said here on Thursday that the message of inauguration of Iran's Chief Consulate Office in Batumi, Ajara, Georgai, is that Iran-Georgia ties has entered a new phase.


Talking to reporters following the inauguration ceremony, he also said that the move is a new development not only in the field of tourism but also in economy.

He also referred to the long history of relations between the nations and said Iranians and Georgians have always stayed together throughout the history thanks to many common points they share.

He also referred to signing visa-free travel deal between the two countries and said this showed that the two nations can communicate with each other without any problem.

Batumi is the capital of Ajara, an autonomous republic in Georgia.
