1st Conference of Islamic Countries Healthy Tourism ends in Iran
The 1st Conference of Islamic Countries Healthy and Secure Tourism ended here in Iran’s holy city of Mash’had, issuing a communiqué.
According to IRNA Cultural Desk reporter, in the communiqué which was read out by the secretary of the conference, Mohammad-Reza Karbasi, it is stated, “The objective of the first conference and exhibition on Islamic world tourism was introducing the attractive, secure and healthy spots within the realm of the OIC member countries and providing an appropriate path for the involved institutes and organizations to extend their relations within the entire Islamic world.”
It is stated in the communiqué that the Grand 100 billion dollar secure and healthy tourism market is a step towards the establishment of the Commonwealth of the Islamic Market, and they are both steps towards strengthening the bonds of Islamic unity and solidarity.
The law making bodies within the OIC member countries are requested to pass laws aimed at strengthening the healthy and secure tourism capabilities in their countries keeping in mind the needs of the Islamic world.
The communiqué has emphasized, “Scientific studies and research works are the required means at the service of expanding healthy and secure tourism and it is suggested that coupled with financial support of institutes, such as the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) the Healthy and Secure Tourism Research Institute should be established to shoulder the task.
The communiqué also adds that devising the standards for healthy and secure tourism by the standard officials of the OIC member countries can pave the path for healthy tourism and the medical services in entire Islamic countries can further assist us in this respect, but in order to meet these objectives a group of experts in the field would be established.
According to the closing communiqué of the conference, the Islamic Development Bank has announced its readiness to participate in research and development projects within the Islamic countries related to healthy and secure tourism.
Meanwhile, an expert mother company aimed at harmonizing the healthy and secure tourism efforts need to be established in entire Islamic countries, according to the communiqué.
The Permanent Secretariat of Healthy and Secure Tourism of the OIC would be established and based in Tehran, according to the reached agreement at the conference, and it would arrange for annual meeting to pursue the objective at OIC member countries.
