STATE HEAD RECEIVES IAEA GENERAL DIRECTOR
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj met Tuesday IAEA / International Atomic Energy Agency/ General Director Mr. Yukiya Amano.
During the meeting, Mongolia's state head mentioned about that Mongolia wholly supports the purpose of IAEA to increase the role of atomic energy in global peacekeeping and in developing of health sector. He added that," the signing of cooperation programme between Mongolia and the Agency has become a vital step towards the extending a cooperation between them".
The State head has underlined the importance of training the atomic energy specialists from Mongolia or of increasing their professional potential in connection with exploitation of an atomic energy for producing energy and in a health sector.
In his turn, Mr. Amano has informed the President that some progress had been made in stopping the outbreak of animal's
foot-and-mouth disease and in diagnosing it with using atomic energy.
The state head has proposed immediate and real actions on neutralizing of the disease spreading saying, "this problem is making all the people worried--from President to herdsmen".
Mr. Amano has said,"There are many possibilities for using an atomic energy in the agriculture and in struggling with cancer", and has mentioned that the "negotiation process between Mongolia and IAEA on that issue is navigating successfully that could yield better benefits for both sides".
