ASIA-PACIFIC COCOTECH MEETING BEING HELD IN MANADO
Manado, Aug. 4 (ANTARA) - An Asian and Pacific Coconut Community (APCC) Cocotech Meeting is being held in Manado, North Sulawesi, from August 4 to 8, 2008, to discuss problems being faced by coconut farmers.
The meeting would discuss various issues such as coconut tree diseases or pests and coconut-related products, Luther Liwoso, a spokesman of the North Sulawesi provincial administration, said here on Monday.
The meeting's participants include coconut traders, exporters, processors, farmers, scientists, experts, importers, and academicians.
The participants are from 15 countries, including Micronesia, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Solomon Island and Vietnam.
