Gillard backs So You Think in Cup race

Prime Minister Julia Gillard is backing favourite So You Think to win Tuesday's
Melbourne Cup.
Ms Gillard on Monday took a few minutes out of the busy schedule of her first Asian
tour for an early cup party with partner Tim Mathieson, staff and journalists.
"I'm tipping So You Think, favourite, sentimental favourite with Bart Cummings and
given we're in Malaysia, it is a Malaysian-owned horse," she said.
"And for an outside tip the one that sounds like desperado, Descardo."
Ms Gillard is running a cup sweep among staff and journalists.
Appropriately, she drew the horse Red Ruler.
Ms Gillard will be in meetings in Indonesia when the cup takes place on Tuesday.
