PRESIDENT SUMMONS TWO MINISTERS ON ALLEGED GRAFT CASE

Jakarta, Aug 4 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono summoned on Monday Forestry Minister MS Kaban and National Development Planning/Chairman of National Development Planning Board (Bapennas), Paskah Suzetta in connection with their alleged involvement in illegal fund flows from Bank Indonesia (BI) to the House of Representatives (DPR) in 2003.

According to the presidential schedules, the president would receive the two ministers at 1 pm on Monday at his presidential office.

Presidential Spokesman Andi Mallarangeng has previously said that the two ministers were to be summoned because the head of state wanted to hear directly the two ministers' explanations on their alleged involvement in the case.

During the meeting, the president would be accompanied by National Police Chief General Sutanto and Attorney General Hendarman Supandji.
Paskah and Kaban who were members of Commission IX of the DPR in the 1999-2004 period, were mentioned by suspect Hamka Yandhu during a Corruption Court session last week, that they had also received Rp27.5 billion of the BI funds.
